Road Trips: Where To Stop To Eat

Southern Momma’s received the below gift cards for free in order to publish this post. However, all opinions are 100% her own.

Do you ever take Road Trip Vacations? We recently went to a few places and it was a pretty long car ride! The one thing about long car rides, is you stop, A LOT! Especially when Traveling with a Toddler. I feel like every five seconds someone was Hungry or someone had to use the restroom. It took us 2 extra hours to get ANYWHERE just because how much we stopped! I wouldn’t trade it for the world though, It was extremely fun getting to go on a road trip with my family.

Between Gas Stations and Food Places I can’t count on one hand how many times we stopped. Traveling from Louisiana to Atlanta. Atlanta to Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach to Virginia. Then to DC for a day. We were on the road quite a bit! It was quite a Vacation. One for the books, that’s for sure.

In a matter of 9 days, we went to many cities. We made stops in Atlanta, GA. Charleston, SC. Myrtle Beach, SC. Waverly, VA. Arlington, VA. & Washington DC. And that is not including restroom, gas, or food stops!

My favorite places to stop on Road Trips:

Delicious Burgers? A great place to stop on trips. Fast service, delicious, and something for everyone. WhataBurger has many tasty burgers, however, the jalapeno & cheese is my absolute favorite! My oh, my, spicy but oh so delicious!

Jersey Mike’s

This trip was our first time stop at a Jersey Mikes. It was truly delicious. The Rosemary Parmesan Bread was serious to die for. I wish I had one of these places closer! The prices were very reasonable, and the sandwiches were perfection. This was a great place to stop at, it was quick but gave us a break to stretch our legs.

Everywhere has a McDonalds. I honestly hate stopping at McDonald’s on vacations because its something I can get at home. However, it seems to be my little munchkins favorite place. Something about a good ole kids meal! We, of course, made a few stops a McDonald’s locations along our many road trips. Breakfast, Lunch, and even Dinner. McDonald’s always has something everyone will love, even my extremely picky little one.

Firehouse Subs

I love subs. They have always been one of my favorites. On our trip, each Firehouse Subs was a little off of our route. We decided to take a detour and give it a try. MY GOD, I was impressed. The atmosphere was my first and foremost favorite. You immediately felt the love when you walked in. On top of having a fantastic vibe, the food was phenomenal.  Unlike other sub places, Firehouse Subs steam the meats and cheeses, releasing a rush of flavors, then stuff a serving that’s way over code on one of our toasted private recipe sub rolls. It’s a winning combination that satisfies ravenous appetites and the value-conscious alike.

Cracker Barrel

One thing I love about Cracker Barrels is they are easy to find! They are everywhere so perfect for road trips! Of course, the food at Cracker Barrel is delicious, everyone already knows that! It is the perfect place to stop on road trips to stretch your legs or even do a little shopping. Like I said, traveling with a toddler can be hard. Having a place like Cracker Barrel to stop at along your Road Trip is pretty great. It keeps your little one entertained while everyone can get in a good home cooked meal.Whether you are looking for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner, you can’t go wrong with stopping at a Cracker Barrel.

We stopped at more than these places on our Road Trip, however, these places stuck out. These are the places I will be stopping at again. These are the places that didn’t make our already stressful vacation more stressful.
