Making a House Our Home

This post is sponsored by RYOBI Nation. However, all opinions are 100% her own.

Well, we did it!

We bought our very first home. Finally, no more renting. We are thrilled to have a home of our own. We couldn’t be happier for this next part of our life. Brock, Bentley, and I are all so blessed and excited to build our home together.

We got us a Fixer Upper, and boy are we fixing it up! Taking down walls, gutting rooms, adding on rooms. Seriously, what did we get ourselves into…

With lots of help from family and friends, and lots of sponsored items to help us along the way we are finally coming along.

The back addition (Laundry Room & Walk-in Closet)

May 2018

So far we have done quite a few things. Honestly, more than I thought we would have in such a short time.

  • We have completely gutted the kitchen and bathroom.
  • We opened up the wall in the Dining room and Living room.
  • Began adding on a Laundry room and Walk-in Closet.
  • Boarded up windows that needed to be.
  • Laid down new plywood floor in the bathroom.
  • Took down all old sheetrock (which made us realize we have original Ship lap underneath!
    • At this point, the ideas are flowing… Accent Wall!!

June 2018

I feel like time is flying and I am so excited about what we have accomplished so far!

  • The addition is coming along nicely!
    • The walls are up.
    • The roof is on!
    • The shingles are on!
  • We bought all of our kitchen appliances! So excited! Y’all, I can’t get over my fridge. It is honestly my favorite.
  • We bought our tub!

The back addition

I am so impressed with how smoothly things have been going. I watch a lot of HGTV, this is too good to be true.

I will continue to post updates here and there. Pictures will come soon. I will do a before and after post to reveal all pictures.

We couldn’t have gotten nearly what we got done so far without the help of RYOBI. The tools have been amazing. Not only were we excited to have such an awesome set to use during our renovation, but we now have every tool we could possibly need for our house after! This set was perfect for all of my little DIY projects, as well as anything needing fixing up!

My dad owns a construction company, so he has seen a few tools in his life. He immediately wanted to go purchase his own RYOBI set after seeing ours. He was completely impressed. We all loved the durability, as well as the design. Plus the ease of use of all the tools included in my kit!

18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Ultimate Combo Kit

  • Includes compact drill, impact driver, circular and recip saw
  • Multi-tool, work light, 2 compact batteries and charger included
  • Carrying bag allows components to be easily stored & transported

18-Volt ONE+ AirStrike Brad Nailer Kit

  • Cordless nailer drives up to 1,700 nails per charge
  • No compressors, hoses or pricey gas cartridges required
  • Includes Lithium-Ion battery and Dual Chemistry Charger

What I love about RYOBI is that these tools are great for personal or business use. They are professional, durable, reliable, and easy. You can use these tools as a DIY beginner, or a professional contractor. The compact batteries with moderate use last a really long time without needing to charge, even if not used for days at a time.

The fun isn’t over yet. We still have tons to do on the house. RYOBI will be there each step of the way. I have already checked out and marked down the next tools I want for our projects! Stay on the lookout as I will continue to update.

When using RYOBI tools, please remember to follow all safety guidelines, including:

  • Always wear safety glasses and closed-toe shoes.
  • Keep long hair pulled back and away from tools. Avoid loose clothing & jewelry.
  • Follow manual instructions on where to hold the tool – many are two-handed operation. Never leave your hand on a saw guard.
  • When using a circular saw, the motor side of the tool should be above the supported side of the workpiece (not the section you’re cutting off).
  • Use clamps to secure workpieces as needed.
  • Contact RYOBI if you have any questions.
